Kay Ann Andress
June 6, 1957 - October 28, 2025
Kay Ann Andress passed away at age 68 at Bayshores Nursing Center in Bay City. Born to the late Stuart Black and Lucille (Wells) Black on June 6, 1957, Kay earned her bachelor's in Hospitality and Management from Davenport University.
She worked at Michigan Sugar, managed a Hot 'n Now, and later worked at Valley Carpet. Kay's family remembers her enjoying dressing up and looking nice, asking for a good back scratch, indulging in late-night ice cream, sometimes crocheting, but often reading her favorite smutty romance novels. She loved watching Big Brother, Survivor, and Hallmark movies and absolutely thrived around her grandkids.
Kay married David on May 5, 1979, and he passed away in 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Alisa in 2013, her brother Paul, and her sister Agnes.
She leaves behind her children Amanda (Lee) Andress and Ashley (Jess) Andress; grandchildren Marisa Smith, Dallanie (Cody) Swincicki, and Mariana (Jack) Swincicki; and great-grandchildren Sapphire and Oaklinn. She is also survived by her siblings Jean Milburn, Charlie (Joy) Black, Jim (Joanne) Black, and brother-in-law John Schober.
Visitation will be held at Squires Funeral Home, 211 North Henry Street, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Those considering a donation in her name may wish to consider the family wishes. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Ambrose and Squires Funeral Homes.
