Our beloved sister and aunt passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at Close to Home Assisted Living Riegel. She was 73.
Mary was born November 22, 1951, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Raymond and Patricia (Pashak) O'Connor. She graduated from West Catholic Central High School in 1970, and later attended Delta College.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during holiday gatherings and shared meals. She will be remembered as a force of nature and for her love of family traditions. Mary faced many challenges during her life but never lost her unique sense of humor.
Surviving are her loving siblings: Ann (Edward Cullen Jr.) O'Connor, Alice (Randy) Smith, Grace O'Connor, Joseph O'Connor (Birgitta Carlsson-Wisotsky), and Paul (Susan) O'Connor. She is also survived by her cherished nieces, nephews, and great niece and nephews: Christopher (Jessica) Smith and their son Nate; Thomas O'Connor (Lauren Angel); Clair O'Connor; Erin (James) Seguin and their children, Norah and Benjamin; Alan O'Connor; Katharine O'Connor; Grace A. O'Connor; and Brendan O'Connor.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Patricia O'Connor; sister, Agnes O'Connor; grandparents, James and Emma O'Connor and Henry and Nellie Pashak; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mary will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Mary's family would like to thank Close to Home Assisted Living Riegel, for their kind and compassionate care they provided to Mary and her family while she was in their care. A special thank you to Christina at AdvisaCare Hospice for going above and beyond in her care of Mary.
Private interment has been held in Calvary Cemetery, Kawkawlin, Michigan. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial donations to Brian's House Community Group or Close to Home Assisted Living Riegel. I remember Ann and Mary very well. Their parents bought a house from my parents when it became too small for us. I only saw Mary as an adult one time. She was our waitress when we were back visiting family several years ago. She looked so much like both Pat and Ray that had to ask her what her last name was. When she said O'CONNOR, I introduced myself and we had a very nice but brief chat. I still remember the day she was born.........such a tiny baby. God bless her now that she is home with her mother and dad. Prayers for Ann and the younger O'Connors. God Bless.
