Lois Bryant Brown, 85, wife of the late Rev. James Davis Brown, of Walhalla, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Residences at Park Place in Seneca. Born at home in Salem, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Preston Bryant and Zelma McCall Bryant. Over the years, she embraced many roles including being a skilled seamstress, retiring from Ryobi, and truck driving. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. A truly unique and talented woman, she had a passion for quilting and will be remembered for her creativity. Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughters: Trina Adams (Steven), Sandra Rackley (Steve), and Nancy Rackley (Dennis); step-daughter: Mary Anne Brooks of Taylors; step-son: Andy "Bubba" Brown (Wanda) of Salem; brothers: Jimmy Bagwell (Pat) and Bobby Bryant; sisters: Lula Sanders, Annie Little and Evelyn Bryant; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a previous husband; Bobby Evans; granddaughter: Amanda Hendricks; son: Tommy Moore; sisters: Nell Crowe, Ollie Bell Eller, Lucille Davis, and Doris Fleming; and brothers: James "Jim" Bryant and Kenneth Bryant. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM, prior to the service, on Thursday August 14, 2025, at Davenport Funeral Home Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 253 Oconee Station Rd., Walhalla, SC 29691. Mrs. Brown's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caretakers at Residences at Park Place and MSA Hospice. The family is at their respective homes.
