Lois A. Butcher passed away on August 2, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Lois was born on January 4, 1953, in Queens, New York, to the late George and Susan (née Giardini) Butcher. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Brzezinski and his wife Heather of Flourtown, and Carrie Brzezinski of Flourtown. She was the beloved "Nana" to her adored grandchildren, Robbie, Giuliana, and Fiora, and the cherished sister of Virginia (Ernest) D'Addario, and loving aunt to Ernie Jr., Todd (Shannon), and Laurie (Massimo) Chillemi. Lois was a loving "mom" to many. She is predeceased by her husband, Stephen Poffley.
Beautifully eclectic, Lois loved life, cooking, higher education, volunteering, traveling, and the arts. Above all, Lois loved her family and especially cherished the holidays and large family gatherings filled with food, laughter, and love.
Relatives and friends are invited to Lois' Celebration of Life on Thursday, August 15th, from 10 to 11 am. Her funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lois' name may be made to WXPN (http://wx.pn/webdonate).

My deepest condolences to the family. Lois was one of a kind. Such a lovely soul. It was thoroughly enjoyable volunteering along side of her for several years. We shared many stories and had many laughs. My heart is saddened by her loss. It'll never be the same without her. My her soul rest in peace.

This photo shows The Elmhurst Girls at their last get-together in 2019: from left, Lois, Karen Squeglio Ninehan, Barbara Burrell, and Andi Burrell Sosin, with Rita Ivanoff in South Carolina on Skype. We were friends almost from birth, playing at each others' houses and on the streets of Elmhurst, Queens. We loved Lois's dancing, her drama, her bubbliness and wisecracks, and we will always remember her.

Lois and I were the youngest of the cousins in a big Italian family. We all got together every holiday and every Sunday for fun and food! I even spent a summer living with her. I will cherish those wonderful memories. Rest in peace cuz.
