Lois M. (Hendrix) Calloway, 87, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away due to complications of cardiac arrest on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born in Wilmington on May 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Ritter) Hendrix.

Lois was an avid bowler and enjoyed participating in several card playing groups with her friends. She also enjoyed spending time at the Delaware Park Casino. Family was the center of her life, and Lois cherished her role as a loving and devoted homemaker.

Lois will be dearly missed by her husband of 66 years, William A. Calloway Sr.; her daughter, Lorraine Cox (Scott); her grandchildren, Timothy Quinn (Tiffany), Stephanie Chadick (Adam), and Melissa Cintron; and her 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Hendrix (Paulette) and George Hendrix (Loie).

Lois was sadly predeceased by her son, William A. Calloway Jr.; and her brother, John Hendrix.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, January 12 from 9:00 – 10:30AM. Funeral services will begin at 10:30AM. Entombment will be held privately at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lois may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 (www.t2t.org) or Faithful Friends Animal Society, 165 Airport Road, New Castle, DE 19720 (www.faithfulfriends.us).
