Lois E. Cochran, 96, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 24, 1929, in Clay Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harvey O. and Emma L. (Garing) Elliott.

Lois attended the Stroyer School and spent the better part of her life as a proud mother and home maker. She was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler. Lois was also involved with numerous card clubs and bowling leagues in which she actively participated in. She enjoyed camping, hiking, crocheting, and cutting her grass. More than anything, Lois loved being with people; especially her family.

She is survived by her three children; Bruce J. (Kathryn) Cochran, of Butler, Robert E. (Susan) Cochran, of Butler, and Cheryl J. (Dennis) King, of West Sunbury; six grandchildren: Shawn, Jared, Valerie, Kathy, Erin, and Ashley, and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John C. Cochran, whom she married on June 5, 1948, and who passed away on February 1, 2004, three sisters; Olive Harnish, Freda Matthews, and Allene Adkins, and her brother; Albert Elliott.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1-3 PM at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00 PM with Pastor David Phillips of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.

She will be laid to rest privately next to her husband at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial donations in her memory to St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001.
