Mrs. Minnie Oleeta Cochran, age 90 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Oleeta was born on April 16, 1935 in Gilmer County to the late William Raymond Pritchett and Mary Weaver Pritchett. She was one of 8 children. Oleeta was saved as a teenager at Turniptown Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member. She loved the Lord, her family, and all that she came in contact with, making everyone feel special, loved, and cared for. Oleeta was a contented soul, with the sweetest spirit, and a constant encourager to all, and was continually grateful for everything, no matter how small. She always had a smile to share and was a wonderful cook, always having biscuits for her grandchildren, of which she treasured. Her life's pleasure was being a homemaker and serving her family. She was an exceptional seamstress, and flowers were her joy.

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." Oleeta's life could be summed up in Proverbs 31:10-31. She had a servant's heart and touched so many lives. She was loved by all, and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia "Trish" and Randy Dyer, of Ellijay, Donna and Greg Easterwood, of Ellijay, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Larry Tankersley, of Ellijay, GA; 2 grandchildren, Kristin (Jon) Baker, of Ellijay, and Amanda (Nathan) McFarland, of Ellijay; great grandchildren, Zack, Abbie, Kloe and Sophie; special caregiver, Debbie Lopez; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 11th, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Jones, Rev. Scott Chastain, Rev. Joey Phillips, and Larry Tankersley officiating. Interment will follow in the Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Richards officiating. Music and singing will be provided by Robby and Carrie Chastain.

The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Jon Baker, Nathan McFarland, Mark Holden, Edward Lacey, Davis Lacey, and Cade Evans. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Tankersley, Claude Chastain, and Raymond Long.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 10th from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the Turniptown Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Parkside Center and Willow Brook Hospice for the skilled nursing care shown during this time.

Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
