Lois Eunice Freske, 95 of Niles, died Friday, November 15 at Westwoods of Niles. Lois was born August 26, 1929 in Berwyn Illinois to Richard and Clara (Behnke) Klebbe. She married Rober W. Freske Sr., September 9, 1951 and moved to Niles in 1958.
Lois met the love of her life in high school, graduating from Luther Institute in 1947, where she was active in choir and other club activities. After high school, Lois was a secretary for JR Milling Co. until Robert returned from his service in the Korean War. After her children were in school, she worked at Lakeland Hospital (formerly Pawating) in Niles. Lois was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, having served in the Altar Guild and many years in the choir. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and participated in bowling leagues, winning several championships. Lois enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Lois is survived by her children, Grace (John) Parshall, Judy (Ken) Hoese, Robert (Julie) Freske, Kathy (Larry) McLaughlin, Richard (Cyndi) Freske; grandchildren, Andrea (Chris Moore) Hoese, John Brian (Melissa) Parshall, Kaitlyn (Mark) Skinner, Greg (Brean) Hoese, Will (Sydney) Freske, Jacob Freske, Evan McLaughlin, Matthew (Anne) McLaughlin, Derrick Freske, Michael Freske, Stephanie Freske; great grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Molly, Annabelle, Hudson, Dylan, Leighton, Henley, Mack, Jori, Jett and Baby Freske.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband on October 9, 1984, her parents, her brother Richard Klebbe, her sisters, Carole Klebbe and Infant Grace.
Services will be held Friday, November 22, 11:00a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, 1340 Sycamore Street, Niles, with gathering one hour prior. Burial will follow at Siverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Thursday, November 21, in Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services at 615 E. Main Street Niles.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or The Brian Parker Memorial Foundation.
