Lois Jean Klumper, a woman of remarkable spirit and creativity, was born on April 9, 1932, to John and Lydia Beckering.

Lois Jean attended Edgerton Public School before furthering her education at the Minnesota School for the Deaf in Faribault, graduating in 1950. Demonstrating incredible determination, Lois Jean overcame the challenges of deafness by self-teaching lip reading and skillfully navigating the hearing world throughout her life.

She met Gerrit Klumper, and they united in marriage on February 15, 1952. Lois Jean first dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker. Later, she embarked on a successful career at Fey Industries, where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 1999.

Lois Jean was a devoted member of the First Reformed Church and an active participant in the church's Sunshine Circle. Her creativity shone through in her community involvement; she was a beloved volunteer for the annual Dutch Festival, spending countless hours painting signs and creating floats.

A truly gifted artisan, Lois Jean possessed a love for drawing, sewing, and crafting. She could happily lose herself in her art for hours. She was a talented seamstress, often able to construct complex garments without a pattern, and she also delighted in making porcelain dolls.

Lois Jean will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, unique sense of humor, and signature side-eye-smirks. She was celebrated as a creative, fun-loving, independent spirit who deeply cherished her family-truly one of a kind.

Lois Jean passed away peacefully at Edgebrook Care Center on November 23, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Jerry Klumper of Lakeville, MN, Karla Worson of Sioux Falls, SD, Kathy Fey (Curtis) of Pipestone, MN

She was a beloved grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Naomi Samuelson, Eric Shuld, Matt Fey, Jessie Weber, Alisha Beckett, Amber Schuld, Lucas Klumper, Cambria Wynja, Jonathan Wornson, Joshua Wornson, and Kaitlynn Engel.

Lois Jean was blessed with 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Willie Klumper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerrit Klumper; her siblings, Raymond, Merlin, and Ramona (and their respective spouses); one great-grandson, Isaac Schuld; and her daughter-in-law, Carol Klumper.
