Edward Arvin (Rob) Vanden Bosch was born September 22, 1945, to Edward and Florence (Roskamp) Vanden Bosch. He grew up on a farm west of Edgerton and attended Edgerton Christian Elementary School and Southwest High School.

Leaving high school, Rob first worked at the blacksmith shop in Edgerton then as an LP gas delivery truck driver. He held various truck driving jobs while he and Shirley farmed and raised their family. He had a life-long love of farming.

Rob met Shirley Starkenburg at a baseball game in Trosky, MN. They were united in marriage on April 25, 1965, and were blessed with three children: Corey, Jeff, and Marcy. The couple lived near Edgerton, Minnesota, and were blessed with 54 years of marriage.

Rob was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton. Rob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, vegetable gardening, woodworking, operating green machinery, reading, and socializing.

Rob died unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was 80 years old.

Rob is lovingly remembered for his fun-loving spirit, quick wit- which often involved verbal sparring, strong work ethic, perseverance, positive attitude, ingenuity-ability to fix most anything, a tough-as-nails yet tenderhearted man with a love for people.

Rob is survived by two sons: Corey (Judy) Vanden Bosch of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Jeff (Gaelynne) Vanden Bosch of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; and a daughter Marcy (Darin) Pals of Jasper, Minnesota; ten grandchildren: Robyn, Ashley, Trisha, Jenn, Sara, Stormi, Jacob, Wyatt, Tristen, and Nicole; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Max Cook of Grass Valley, California, Iva (Ken) Lane of Anthem, Arizona, and Mari (Wayne) Kooiman of New London, Minnesota; sister- and brothers-in-law Carolyn, Everett, and Scott; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; parents Eddie and Florence; father- and mother-in- law Marinus and Janette; brother Roy; sisters-in-law: Lou, Helen, and Jan; brother-in-law Don; nephews Darron and Michael; and great-grandson Emmett.
