LEFTON, Lois Faye (nee Berkowitz), age 85, passed away November 2, 2024, beloved wife of 63 years to Barry Lefton, devoted mother of David (Karen) Lefton, Rick (Betsy) Lefton, Jimmy (Laurie) Lefton, and Ben (Jaime Willis) Lefton, loving grandmother of Nicole (Jay) Short, Carly, Lev, Claire, Abby, Nathan, Grace, Alex, Danielle, Mallory, Eliana, Brian, and Aiden Lefton, caring great-grandmother of Paxton Short, dear sister of the late Norman (Judy) Barron, and the late Bernard (Ilze) Barron. She will be greatly missed by her family, many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lois graduated from Walnut Hills High School in 1957 and went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Home Economics. Lois was a teacher first, but her real passion was family. She devoted her life to raising her four boys and traveling the world with her beloved husband Barry. Lois cherished time with her many friends and relatives. In the most cherished times, she enjoyed the beach and sunshine in Hilton Head and Boca Raton with cousin Deedy Cohen and her husband Max Cohen.
In her later years, Lois's 13 grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy as she finally had girls lots of girls to do all of the fun activities she missed out on while raising boys, and she loved every second of it. Lois was a kind, happy and optimistic soul who could always see the best in people and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and warmth.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 1:00PM at United Jewish Cemetery of Montgomery, 7885 Ivygate Lane Montgomery, Ohio 45242. Shiva will be observed on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 5:00-7:00PM at Somerset Clubhouse, 8075 Somerset Chase Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
