Lois Montgomery, resident of Burleson, TX, formerly of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on August 4th, 2025 at home at the age of 94 years.
Lois was born September 27th, 1930 in Bedford, Texas and was a graduate of Burleson High School. She stayed in contact and met regularly with her graduating class members from the class of ’48 for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. She loved visiting with her friends and family. She was known to visit nursing homes where her husband Leo played music and sang for the residents. Her son taught her to dance and she surprised her husband, who loved to dance.
Lois was always happy and loved making people laugh. She never complained and was always content with whatever she faced.
Lois was a life-long Baptist and made sure her family attended church faithfully. She loved walking each day, and reading the Star Telegram, every page, every word, front to back. She also enjoyed gardening, and cooking for her family (or anybody). She cooked a family lunch once a week for her children and their spouses until she was 85 years old.
Lois is survived by her children; Dianne Ashcraft and her husband John, Eugene Montgomery and his wife Sandra, Bob Montgomery and his wife Ruth, her grandchildren; Eugene Montgomery Jr. Michelle Montgomery- Beam, John Ashcraft, Susan Corpier, Steven Ashcraft, Linda Montgomery, and Greg Montgomery, great-grandchildren; Jaron Beam, Jordon Bacrantz, Madison Montgomery, Michael Guthrie, Aidan Montgomery, Sophia Montgomery, Matthew Beck, Leo Corpier, Deuce Corpier, Stori Ashcraft, Steven Ashcraft Jr., Cheri Cartwright, and Travis Cartwright, and six great-great grandkids, and many nephews and nieces who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband; Leo Montgomery, her siblings; James Millirons, Rolly Millirons, Lucille Perry, and Virginia Marshall as well as her grandson Allen Tierman.
The visitation service will be held August 11, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel. The Memorial service will be held August 12, 2025 at 2:00PM at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel.
