Lois Moreth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simons Funeral Home, Inc. on Sep. 2, 2022.
Born on July 31, 1928 in West Deer Township, Lois grew up with her two sisters (Ruth Duff now deceased and Helen Rosenberger). She married and had two sons, Paul R. And Brian D., both deceased. Her journey in life included a joyful time of owning and operating her own gift shop, Lois Eileen's, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Though the work was hard and the hours long, she thoroughly delighted in using her creative skills to decorate and stock the store. She met and engaged with many people and enjoyed hearing their life stories. Always known for her inviting smile and merry eyes, she continued to meet people when returning to Oakmont to live with her sister Ruth for many years. After living for several years with her son, Brian and his wife Jan, where she spent hours in her flower garden, she moved to Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont. There she met someone whom she referred to as her soulmate and the love of her life. They enjoyed long conversations and hours of company together. Her final years were punctuated by frequent loving visits from her nieces (Carol Chambers, Marianne and Martha Rask, Marilyn Harmon), her granddaughters (Heather Prentice and Kirsten Ortiz), her great-grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as Gigi, (Hope, Erica, Addison, Katelyn, and Kirsten Prentice and Alita and Alex Ortiz) and her daughter-in-law, Janice (Jan) Moreth. Lois eagerly left this earth a month after her 94th birthday, on August 31, 2022. Funeral arrangements will be private.
