Lois Obermeier 89, resident of Aster Senior Living Center of Marshfield, has left this temporary home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2025.
She was born on April 5th, 1936, in Wausau WI, the daughter of the late William F. Lenz Jr. and Helen (Svehla) Lenz.
She married Vernon M. Obermeier on January 4th, 1956, and was married for 52 years. Vernon preceded her in death on Sept 8, 2008.
They enjoyed life together in Rocky Ridge, where they built the home they had always wanted and it was their “little slice of heaven.” Lois resided there until Nov of 2024.
Lois was employed at A&W trucking as a bookkeeper, taking time off to raise her family. When returning to the workforce she joined the Mosinee School District doing food services.
She was a member of the Happy Haus Frau Homemakers club for many years and is where she acquired a pen pal and dear friend Lynn Criddle of Perth Australia. They corresponded for over 50 years. Lynn came to visit with her friend John and Lois was even able to travel there once.
Lois’s favorite pastime was playing cow dice and golf (card game). She was merciless and always seemed to pull off a win. She loved to go…anywhere…. anytime and anyplace! Since moving to Aster in November, she made numerous new friends and thoroughly enjoyed the many activities, including of course, playing cow with the girls. She was a member of St. Paul’s Parish in Mosinee, WI
She is survived by her children: Dale (Wanda) Obermeier of Cleveland GA. Roxann (Bernie) Wanta of Hewitt WI. Robert (Debra) Obermeier of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Russell (Tammy) Obermeier of Weston WI. Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Mark) Pendergrass, Brandon Wanta, Alicia (Chris) Raymond, Jessica (Dan) Kerrigan, Krystal Obermeier (Josh Wasieleski), Danielle (Justin) Walters, Kyle (Becca) Obermeier. Great grandchildren: Shiri Obermeier, Mia and Sophie Raymond, Everest, Skyelyn, Aspen Pendergrass and Cameron Walters and many nieces and nephews. Sister-in-laws: Marlene Lenz and Susan (Mike) Drengler.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents Helen and William Lenz Jr, brothers Miram and Reinold Lenz, nephew Brian Lenz, and sister-in-law Jeanette Maier
