Memorial Service for Lois M. Patras age 88 of Plainview, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Creighton Bible Church in Creighton Nebraska with Pastor Colin McClure officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Plainview, Nebraska. Lois passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Plainview Manor. Lois Marlene (Woods) Patras, 88, of Plainview, Nebraska, passed away on September 24, 2025. She was born August 11, 1937, in Winnetoon, Nebraska, to Dallas and Hattie Woods.
She graduated from Creighton High School in 1955, where she played clarinet in the marching band. On February 6, 1960, she married Billie Dean Patras of Brunswick. Together they moved to California, where in 1963 they adopted their daughter, Brenda Sue. In 1971 they returned to Nebraska to farm and raise their family.
Lois worked in medical record-keeping and bookkeeping, later serving many years at Casey’s in Plainview until 2017. She also provided loving childcare for many families in the community.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Lois was a longtime secretary of her church, a devoted EMT for more than 35 years, a Food Bank volunteer, and active at the Senior Center. She loved her family dearly and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Hattie Woods; siblings Wesley and Darlene; and her husband Bill. She is survived by her daughter Brenda and son-in-law Dave Lauver; brother Daniel Woods; grandchildren Cindy, Lindsay, and Jacob; honorary grandchildren Ashlee, Kaytlyn, and Morgan; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
