Lois J. Pike
It is with sadness that the family of Lois J. Pike announces her passing on September 10, 2023, at the age of 94. She was the wife of the late William H. Pike. She was born on April 30, 1929, in Lynn, MA to Arnold H. Ahlquist and Elizabeth (Acheson) Ahlquist. She was raised and educated in Lynn, graduating from Lynn English High School in 1946 and attended Lynn School of Nursing.
Lois and Bill were married in 1950 and in 1957 moved to Beverly, MA where they raised their family. They spent many summers at Long Lake in Maine where they all enjoyed being on the water. Lois was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. She worked for many years at Beverly Hospital where she retired in 1989.
In 1989 Lois and Bill moved to Sunset Beach, NC where they spent twenty-five years golfing, going to the beach and attending Bluegrass Festivals.
In addition to her husband, Lois was predeceased by her son Richard J. Pike who died in 1963 at the age of seven. She was also predeceased by her brother Arnold H. Ahlquist, Jr., her sister-in-law Barbara M. Poole and her brother-in-law William Poole.
Those left to honor her memory are her sons William Pike and wife Soty, David Pike, Thomas Pike and wife Lisa, her daughter Marilyn Pike and husband Paul Chalifour, her grandchildren Christopher Pike and wife Meagan, Jennifer Shaw and husband Darren, Jessica Pike, Haley Pike, Mara Maguire, Michael Maguire and wife Allison, Matthew Maguire and wife Danielle and her great grandchildren Christalia, Calliope and Eleni Pike, Sophia and Emmet Shaw, Caroline Kelley, Alexandra Maguire and Liam and Owen Maguire. Many thanks from her family to the very kind staff on J-3, especially Mary and Anna, at Beverly Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness they showed to Lois at the end of her life.
She will be greatly missed.
