Lois Tonkin Obituary

Lois Louise (Mikesell) Tonkin, 87, of Delmont, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025. She was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Black Lick, the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Elizabeth (Rowley) Mikesell. Lois enjoyed crafting, crocheting, cooking, and especially spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles R. Tonkin, who passed on May 27, 2017; and three stepsons. Lois will be deeply missed by her brothers, Edward A. Mikesell and his partner, Nancy Hunter and William (Mary) Mikesell; sister, Helen (Sim) Drew; nephews, Mark, Scott, and David Mikesell; great-nephews, John and Elliott Mikesell; great-niece, Bernadette Mikesell; four stepsons; and one stepdaughter. Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Dr., Delmont, (724-468-1177), followed by a service for Lois at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Kara Propst officiating.
