Lois Wise

Lois M. Wise, 95, of Waterville, Ohio passed away July 14, 2025. She was born May 17, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Frederick and Marie (Berndt) Howe.

Lois worked as a cook for Anthony Wayne Schools for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Community of Christ Lutheran Church in Whitehouse, Ohio. She loved her dogs and enjoyed spending time working on ceramics, gardening and baking.

Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved birthday parties and celebrating all holidays.

She is survived by her children Linda (Charles) Riley of Brighton, Michigan, Larry Wise of Holland, Ohio, Sally McEwen of Liberty Center, Ohio, Gary (Nadine) Wise of Whitehouse, Ohio, Michael (Lee) Wise of Whitehouse, Ohio and Jeffrey Wise of Maumee, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer, William, Kristen, Kerri, Michael, Jasin, Taylor, Taryn, Matthew, Jarred, Tina, Tim, Tracy and great-grandchildren Jade, Mason, Charlotte, Todd, Rowan, Gus, Sandra, Austin and Savannah.

Lois was preceded in death by her sisters Joan Howe and Nancy Weitzel, son-in-law Butch McEwen and daughter-in-law Mary Wise.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elizabeth Scott Community as well as Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the care they provided.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 18, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 6603 Providence St. Whitehouse, Ohio 43571. Her funeral service will be held Saturday July 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Community of Christ Lutheran Church, 6517 Finzel Rd. Whitehouse, Ohio 43571. Pastor Steve Bond will officiate. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to Anthony Wayne Schools or Community of Christ Lutheran Church.
