Her Alpha & Omega: Loisteen Davis Bartley was the only child born June 4, 1969 in Lumberton, N.C. to the late Mae Gladys Davis. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 13th at 12:51 pm in the comfort of her home. Loisteen was a dedicated and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, NuNu to her grands, auntie to her nieces and nephews and "Lois" to her friends and classmates.

Her Service: Loisteen joined First Baptist Church at an early age. She was a proud member of various choirs to include The Heralds of Joy Youth Choir, J.J. Johnson Mass Choir, B.B. Thompson Young People's Choir and The Beacon Light Sunday School class. She served faithfully on the Hospitality Committee as an Asst. President and then later as the President for many years. At an early age she knew she wanted to cook and feed others. Baking was her joy, especially during Christmas when she could be creative and bake cakes (famous red velvet & pound) for others throughout the community. She was so proud to serve under the direction of Mrs. Janice Thompson with the Youth Missionary. This afforded her the opportunity to stay involved with ministry while raising her 2 children Brittany & Trey as well as supporting and standing by her husband. "Lois" continued to be busy helping raise her 5 grandchildren. She often said her reason for fighting her illness as long as she did was because of the special love she had for them. To them she will always be "Mama or NuNu".

Her Education: Loisteen attended Essex & Robeson County schools graduating from Fairmont High School in 1987. She worked in various jobs until she decided to fulfill her dream of becoming a certified cook. She later pursued her college education and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science (Culinary Arts). She was an amazing cook and baker. Lois also owned and operated Davis Chicken and Lemonade, selling out at various events until her health began to fail. To know Loisteen was to love her. She would do anything to help anybody and she loved some good music with her favorite artist being Betty Wright.

Her Memories: Loisteen leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving and dedicated husband of 37 years, Layton Bartley, Jr.; 2 children ~ Brittany Shontaha Bartley & Trey Bartley both of the home; 5 grandchildren ~ Ezekiel Tre'von Jenkins of Pembroke, NC, Lanazia M'Kiya Graham, Janazia Ma'Keya Graham, L'vie Ski Bartley, Makani Equiston Bartley all of the home; her father 7 step mother ~ Clyde & Joyce Edwards; 3 sisters ~ Evangelist Barbara Michelle Cooke (Michael), Phyllis Page Malloy, Nedra M.
