Lola Virginia Hicks

Lola Virginia Hicks, age 81, of Stone Mountain passed away on May 20, 2023. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lester H. Reynolds. Virginia was a member of the Forrest Hills Baptist Church for over 59 years. She worked for Sealtest Dairy as a switchboard operator and Anderson Elementary School as a Paraprofessional; however, she was primarily a homemaker who took immense joy in her family and loved them unconditionally.
Virginia was preceded in death by James Dedrick Hicks, her husband of 58 years. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law: Stephan and Sharon Hicks; daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Steve Smith, and Cynthia and Greg Cochran; grandchildren: Stephanie, Ethan, Sheridan, Colton, Savannah, Jessica, and Justin; great grandchildren: Spencer, Stephan, Sage, Sawyer, and Lily.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 6-8 pm at As Turner and Son's Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Georgia. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Melwood Cemetery.
