Nanny Goins was bornon April 17, 1941 to the union of Amanda and William Buis and was raised by her aunt and uncle Florida and Charles Treece.
She departed this life on January 2, 2024 at Serenity House. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Preston Eugene Goins and her husband of 60 years, Leroy G. Goins, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Debra Cookie Wilder, Leroy G. Goins. Jr. (Steven Wells) and Teresa Tesa Ewing all of Morristown; sister-in-law, Pauline Polly (Lacy) tate; stepmother, Helen Buis; four sisters, one brother, several nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great- grandchildren; special grandson, Ivan Acosta; special friends, Ruth Isom and Yvonne Simpson; and a host of cousins.
The family would like to thank Serenity House, Amedisys and Michelle Toler.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, with visitation at 1 p.m. and the service to follow at 2 p.m., at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home, 117 East Third South St. Elder Ventrus Norfolk will serve as Officiant.
Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
