Lonnie Brinton Anderson

Lonnie "Tom" Anderson was born October 26, 1961 to Isabell and Barry Anderson in Tucson, Arizona. He grew up in Taos, New Mexico but lived in Marana, Arizona almost all of his life. He graduated Marana High School, Class of 1979.
After graduating, Lonnie served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, traveling overseas and serving with honor. Upon completion of service, he worked construction, laying down the foundation work for many structures still found in Tucson today. He leaves not only an imprint in our hearts, but an imprint in the city he called home. Always the hardworking man, he spent the next 30 + years laying the track in mines along the southwest and upper west coast.
Lonnie loved and enjoyed many things in life. First and foremost he loved his family. He loved his pets and took pride in his home. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, building things, gardening, spending time outdoors, joking around and coaching his kids sports. He owned a vast wealth of knowledge on these many hobbies and took pride imparting his knowledge. But his biggest joy in life was being "Tata Tom" to his grandchildren – Analysia, Ayden, Zayne, Charlize, Nomar, Noé, Severina, August, Maya and Maris.
Lonnie passed away in his home on December 28th, 2022 at the tender age of 61. He will be remembered most for his endless generosity, his story telling and his sense of humor. He was a one of a kind jokester, leaving everyone always wondering if he was serious or not. He will be sorely missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his father Barry and his brother Barry. He is survived by his mother Isabell, his sister Monica, his brother Richard, his wife Martha and his children Lonnie, Daniel and Michelle.
We will be holding a viewing and celebrating the life of our beloved "Tata Tom" January 3rd, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Marana Mortuary.
