Lonnie Lee Huff, 80, of Bucyrus passed away on June 16, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1944, at Mammy's House in Houston, MO to Robert and Opal (Cruson) Huff.
Lonnie attended school in Houston and graduated from Houston High School. After high school he attended School of the Ozarks for college. He later went on to become a jeweler and then tried his hand at odd jobs from owning a beauty salon to truck driving until eventually retiring. Lonnie married Janet (Foreman) Huff in 1965, and they had three children, Cody, Jody, and Lance. Lonnie later married Debbie (Brazeau) Huff in 1996.
Lonnie's grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved spending time with them! Lonnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and hanging out with Pat, Larry, and Rocky. He loved to fish. Growing up he would walk 5 miles to the bridge on M Highway. He would cut limbs and tie on a string with hook to make poles for his sisters. Lonnie and his brother Bobby made the hooks. Lonnie and Bobby also learned taxidermy and stuffed many animals (particularly deer heads). For years, Lonnie would invite his mom and siblings to his home in Union to enjoy his swimming pool. Great parties! He was a master griller! He loved talking to just about everyone he crossed paths with.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Huff; parents, Robert and Opal Huff; brothers, Bob Huff, Larry Huff, and Mickey Huff; and sister, Barbara Burk.
He is survived by his children, Cody Huff (Janice Virant), Jody Wamhoff (Jim Wamhoff), and Lance Huff (Marianne Castro-Huff); sisters, Patty Street, Pam Huff, and Debi Word (Greg Word); grandchildren, Trevor Huff, Jared Wamhoff, Clayton Wamhoff, Aidan Wamhoff, Natalee Huff, and Dylan Huff; and stepdaughters, Corrine and Christy Jahnke.
Lonnie's family would like to ask the community to pray for Patricia Rosen who is one of Lonnie's close friends. She was with him when he passed away and is currently in critical condition.
