Lonnie Mess of Phenix City, AL peacefully passed away on November 7, 2023 at the age of 79 years old.
Lonnie owned her own business as an antique dealer for more than 40 years. Her love of antiques allowed her to accumulate the largest collection of depression glass in the southeast.
Lonnie loved socializing with her friends at karaoke and enjoyed live music. She had a genuine "love for life" and her grandchildren attribute their "fun gene" to her.
Lonnie was preceded in death by her mother (Opal Lee Sweat), her father (Leldon Pholy Wood), her sister
(Pamela Sue Leverett), her grandchild (Kyle Edward Harris) and her former husband (Martin Lavaughn Harris).
Survivors include: Two sons (Tim Harris) and (Tony Harris) her brother, (Randall Grant Lambert) along with his spouse (Oscar Taipe) and Daughter in-laws (Kim Harris) and (Brenda Harris). Survivors also include six grandchildren ( Austin Harris, Alyssa Harris, Gabrielle Harris, Gavin Harris and wife Day Harris, Jade Harris and Rhett Harris).
Other survivors include: Nieces (Stephanie King) and (Michelle Ray).
Her close friends included: (Carol Wommack, Patty Carroll, Doris Rigsby along with numerous other friends and relatives.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday Nov. 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm EST immediately followed by a brief visitation at Schomburg Rd. Baptist Church located at 7155 Schomburg Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
Pastor Buddy Lamb will be officiating the service.
