Warren – Lora E. Smith, 77, of Warren passed away on Monday afternoon, April 29, 2024 at Gillette Nursing Home.
Lora was born on June 28, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Robert E. and Lois E. (Williams) Jones.
Lora was a 1964 graduate of Boardman High School and went on to attend Youngstown State University. She worked as a librarian for many years, first in Garrettsville and then for the Warren Public Library.
Outside of work, Lora enjoyed cooking, playing cards, attending car shows and shopping. She cherished the times of going out to eat with friends and family. Lora was an animal lover and enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and listening to music. Most of all she adored her grandchildren and was grateful for her family. Lora will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lora will always be remembered by her daughter, Traci Smith Dunning of Warren; son, Shannon Smith of Nashville, TN; granddaughters, Aislyn and Avery Dunning; former husband and friend, Ralph Smith of Warren and brothers, Roy (Judy) Jones of Southington and Timothy Jones of Valparaiso, IN.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Lora on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1 to 3pm at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.
A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 3pm.
To celebrate Lora's life and spirit, all visitors are encouraged to wear colors that make them happy.
