Loren Chase

Loren Duane Chase passed away January 3rd 2025 at Drew's Country Living under the care of Hospice of Hillsdale County from pneumonia, Sepsis and Parkinson's. Duane was born October 17th 1938 in Adams Twp, Hillsdale Co. MI. He was the son of Clarence S. Chase and Edna Geraldine (Rhodes). Duane married Patricia Ann Laux on November 28th, 1959 in Jonesville MI. They had 2 children, Stephen Lance Chase (wife Becky) and Dawn Ann Chase Haire (fiancée Scott Eding).
In 1957 he graduated from North Adams-Jerome High School. He joined the United States Navy and served aboard on the Destroyer DD698 Ault. Duane married Patricia and they moved to Hanover, where he was very involved in the Hanover community. He built 5 duplexes', was elected to the Hanover Village Counsel, and was active in the Lions Club. Duane retired from Goodyear with 30 years of service as an Operating Engineer in the power house.
Duane and Patricia moved to North Adams after retiring. Opening Chase's Wood Shop was his hobby and he took pride in all the things he made. Duane enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being on the Lake Bel-Air Property Association and Adams Twp boards, he loved being involved with the community.
Duane was a 32nd Degree Mason, Horton Lodge #293, and a member of the Lions Club for many years. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions play football with his son Steve.
He is survived by sister's Lois Nurnberg, and Karen Sue Tutt, 6 grandchildren, Patrick, Danielle, Tyler, Shawn, Christina and Max, 2 great granddaughters Mia and Ava.
Preceded in death by sister Velma Miller, step mother Dorthy Chase, step siblings Ruberta Smith, Charles Harter and Charlene Roberts
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
