Lorena (Lori) Gusman Martinez, age 76, of El Campo, Texas, departed for her heavenly home on September 13, 2025, with her family and friends gathered near, she peacefully transitioned to her eternal place. Born on December 19, 1948, she lived a life defined by faith, love, and kindness. Lori was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, making it the cornerstone of her daily life and actions. Through prayer, attending Mass, and acts of kindness, she consistently practiced her beliefs and found strength in her unwavering trust in God. Lori's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, hope, and love, serving as an inspiring example to family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit and steadfast values touched hearts, and her legacy of faith continues to guide and uplift those she leaves behind. Lori built a remarkable career in banking, where her commitment to excellence, generosity of spirit, and genuine care for others left a lasting mark. All trusted in her professional guidance and unwavering integrity throughout the years. She had a rare gift for making people feel valued and respected, and her presence brought light to every room she entered. Beyond her professional life, Lori embraced each day with energy and joy. She loved early morning runs at the high school track, traveling with her family, and spending time together at home. Some of her happiest moments were shared during family gatherings, relaxing on her backyard patio, surrounded by the people she loved most and all the family dogs. Lorena shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Pete G. Martinez. Together, they nurtured a loving family who continue to honor her spirit: Christine Arias (Joe) of Hutto, TX; Patricia Martinez (Michael Huang) of Houston, TX; and Cynthia Martinez (Sean Wasserman) of Houston, TX. Lori was also the proud grandmother of her cherished granddaughter, Ava Arias. Lori was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anatalia Salazar Gusman and Gregorio Gusman. As the second oldest of eight siblings, she was also predeceased by Eva Legler and Ernest Gusman. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Adam Gusman, Greg Gusman, Alicia Legler, Robert Gusman and Silvia Hogan, each of whom carries fond memories of her loving spirit. Those who knew Lori will remember her as a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother. Her warmth, wisdom, and compassion touched countless lives, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and meaningful connections. A public viewing will be held at Triska Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18 at 4 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Robert's Catholic Church on Friday, September 19 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
