Lorenzo Woods, Jr., a cherished son, husband, stepfather, brother, and friend, departed this life on May 9, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and culinary passion. Born on November 27, 1975, in the loving community of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lorenzo embodied joy and resilience throughout his life.
As a cook at the mess hall on Sheppard Air Force Base, Lorenzo found not only a career but a vibrant way to share his love for food with those around him. Each meal he prepared carried a piece of his heart, nurturing both the bodies and spirits of many service members. Lorenzo's delightful cooking created cherished memories, fostering friendships that lasted a lifetime. His presence in the kitchen was a beacon of joy, marking the gatherings with laughter and comforting meals.
Lorenzo is survived by his beloved father, Lorenzo Woods Sr., his wife, India Richardson, and a loving blended family including three stepchildren, ten dear grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. He is also remembered with deep affection by his sister, Angela Bailey and brother-in-law.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his beloved mother, LaWana M. Young, whose nurturing spirit shaped the compassionate man he became, and his brother, Pierre T. Williams, who left this earthly realm in 2019. Their love and guidance remain a part of his essence, echoing in the hearts and minds of those who loved him.
The loss of Lorenzo leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him. His laughter, his culinary creativity, and his unwavering love will continue to inspire and uplift those he has touched. Though he is no longer physically present, the warmth of his spirit and the flavors of his life will endure in the cherished memories and stories told by family and friends. He will be sorely missed, but his light will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to share their lives with him.
