Loretta Christina Knight

Loretta Christina Knight, 77, of Tyler, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 7, 2025. She was a faith-filled, prayer warrior and a true Woman of God. She loved our Lord and Mother Mary with a profound joy, which she shared with all those she encountered. Loretta found her calling as a loving wife of nearly 55 years to her devoted husband, Tim Knight, as a mother to three and grandmother, affectionately known as "Lita", to her seven grandchildren, and as a beloved teacher working with children for more than 45 years. She was born on September 30, 1947, in El Paso, Texas, to Belem (De la Torre) and Angelo Saucedo as one of eight children. She attended Loretto Academy and the University of Texas at El Paso (Texas Western College).
Loretta is preceded in death by her son, Stephen Knight; her parents, Angelo and Belem Saucedo and her siblings, Angie Luceri (Joe), Carmen Job (Juan), Stella Gonzalez (Alex), Minnie Lizarraga (Alex), Albert Saucedo, and Hector Saucedo. She is survived by her loving husband, Tim; her daughters, Colleen Santoni (Frank) and Marissa Walton (James); her grandchildren, Noah, Alex, and Luke Santoni, Andrew, Rhys, and Libby Walton and Evelynne Knight; her sister, Becki Sanchez (Danny) and sisters-in-law, Irma Saucedo and Lucy Saucedo.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Loretta's life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Flint, Texas with Father James Rowland officiating.
Visitation is scheduled from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, with Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
