Loretta Crowe Orr, age 78, of Cumming, GA passed away February 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt & Lucille Crow, son, Darrin Orr, brother, George Crowe and sister, Gloria (Cindy) Thornton.
Born Olivia Loretta (Rita) Crowe in Gainesville, Georgia, Loretta grew up in the Chicopee community. She attended Gainesville High School and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia with a BS in Pharmacy. After internships at UGA and John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, she continued to work as a pharmacist until she became a homemaker for her two sons. Loretta was a dedicated mother who later loved spending time with her granddaughters. Birthdays and holidays were always special, as she enjoyed baking and cooking for the family. Her faith in God was very important to her. An avid Bulldog fan, she enjoyed watching UGA football. Some of her favorite memories included spending time at the beach with her son Darrin.
She is survived by her son, Ryan (Susan) Orr, of Woodstock, GA, grandchildren, Emily Orr & Annabel Orr, nieces, Caroline Crowe, of Atlanta, Jennifer (David) Rich, of Blue Ridge, GA, nephews, Jeff Thornton, Alex Thornton, and sister-in-law, Sally Crowe, of Atlanta, GA.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the funeral home.
