Loretta Witters Obituary
Born June 1, 1942, in Moville, Iowa, Loretta attended Sacred Heart there, and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, Iowa. Loretta moved in 1963 to Rockford, where she owned and operated the "Coffee Cup" for 17 years and the well-known "Witters Concessions" for 37 years.
Loretta married the love of her life, Edward C. Witters, on July 22, 1961; they were blessed with 62 beautiful years together.
Loretta will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ed; their three children, Arlo (Susie) Witters, Sandy Morgan and David (Connie) Witters; her wonderful grandchildren, Ashley Ricci, Caleb and Casey; and her amazing great-grandchildren, Allyson, Michael and Antonio; along with her great-great-grandchildren, Braxton, Cohen, William and Lyllian. Loretta will also be fondly remembered by her five brothers and sisters, Virgil Klemmensen, Irvin (Nannette) Klemmensen, Donna (Ken) Thompson, Elvera (Doug) Guillaume and Darlene (Dan) Richer; along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alvin and Vera (Scheier) Klemmensen; and two sons-in-law, Bob Morgan and Mike Ricci.
Loretta was a wise kind soul who cared for all those around her. She will forever and always be "Mom" or "Gramma" to many. There are countless words to describe this woman we all knew and loved, but her family can all say, she was a hoot.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 pm Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at Olson's Quiram Kirkland Chapel, 309 S. Fifth St., Kirkland, IL 60146. Burial will follow at the family plot at Roseland Cemetery, East Crill Road, Fairdale. Celebration of life will follow at the Kirkland Fire Station, 3891 Illinois Route 72, Kirkland, IL 60146, where the doors will open at 11 am for the gathering.
