Lorey Michael Block

Lorey Michael Block, age 68, of Wheeling, beloved husband for 34 years of Adrianne Block, nee Land; loving father of Jason Block; devoted son of the late Harold and the late Dorothy Block; cherished brother of Joel (Sandra) Block; treasured uncle of Bryan (Julia) Block, Jennifer (Dustin) Parthemore and Peter (Samantha) Ziegler; dear great uncle of Riley Parthemore and Oliver and Alanna Ziegler; fond brother-in-law of Phyllis Land Ziegler and Michael Land; adored "Pet Dad" of Krypto (his black lab) and Gideon (his box turtle). Memorial Service Thursday, July 24th, 1:00 p.m. CT at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove. (1 Block N. of Lake Cook Rd.). Lorey's service will be livestreamed at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Lorey and Adrianne have a special phrase for each other, "You're stuck with me, because no one else would put up with you." Lorey was kind-hearted, family-oriented, and had an amazing encyclopedia knowledge of sports, specifically baseball and football. Adrianne was the center of his universe, and he was extremely proud of Jason's accomplishment of attaining a Master's degree. Lorey and Adrianne met in 1979 when they were both working at the Washington National Insurance Company. For Adrianne, it was love at first sight, it took a little longer for Lorey to come around. At Washington National Insurance, Lorey was a star pitcher for their men's 16-inch softball team for many years. He will be dearly missed by all.
