Lori Renee Maxwell was born on January 7, 1965, to John Cruit Maxwell and Leslie Louise Brown Maxwell. After a six-year battle with Vascular Dementia, Lori left this world peacefully at home, in her son's arms, and surrounded by family and friends on September 5, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.

Lori was a woman of extraordinary grace, warmth, intelligence, boundless creativity, and profound love, a beacon of wisdom that radiated to all fortunate enough to know her. Lori embodied the essence of selflessness, consistently placing the needs and happiness of others above her own.

Lori possessed an unparalleled ability to find beauty in every facet of life, a talent she generously shared with those around her. Lori's connection to the world extended beyond humanity into nature, where she saw beauty and worth in all living beings. All living creatures and plants were precious to her, each deserving love and respect. She instilled this profound reverence for all life in her children, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and empathy. Countless times throughout her life, people marveled at Lori's exceptional job raising her children.

Lori is survived by her two sons, Donald Benjamin Kinard and Walter Jonathan Kinard; and her brother, Jeffrey David Maxwell. She is also survived by her new grandchild, Scarlett Renee Kinard, who will carry forward Lori's legacy of love, compassion, creativity, and beautiful curly hair.

One of Lori's cherished sentiments, expressed in a heartfelt letter to her son, is a timeless reminder of her wisdom and optimism: "I want you to enjoy this time; it's very special, and you can experience lovely things. Embrace where you are and when you are there - It won't last forever. Find the good in the places you visit. Cherish the sunrises and sunsets - remember the little things—a bird you've never seen - maybe a mountain or a tree that seemed extraordinary. Enjoy yourself, despite what you may be going through. Live your life to the fullest with no regrets."

Mom, your sons, and grandbaby love you so much, and you will be so dearly missed.
