Lori Jane (Powell) Rankin, 61, of Belton passed away on January 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Born on November 11, 1962, to Almon “Buddy” Mack Powell and Wilma Annell (Mott). Lori led a life filled with love, compassion, and creativity.

Lori was a woman of many talents and interests. She found solace and joy in the art of sewing. When she wasn't at her sewing machine, Lori could be found immersed in the pages of a captivating book. Additionally, Lori had a green thumb and derived immense pleasure from tending to her garden. She nurtured her roses and crepe myrtle trees with care and watched them bloom into vibrant displays of nature's beauty.

Lori is survived by her beloved husband Thomas Rankin, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Their unwavering love was an inspiration to all who knew them. Lori's has daughters, Ashley Rankin, PH.D., and Elizabeth Rankin of Austin, Texas, who were the lights of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them and instilled in them the values of kindness and perseverance. And addition to immediate family members, Lori leaves behind a brother Ronnie Powell of Jasper County, Texas and her loving mother-in-law, Mildred Powell.

Lori’s warmth, kindness, and creativity touched the hearts of many. As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember her vibrant spirit and cherish the memories that will forever remain etched in our hearts. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her gentle presence continue to guide and inspire us all.
