Lori Salmon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 8, 2025.
Kim moved to Garden City with her mom when she was a teenager and she loved this area and the beach.

She was funny, fun, loving and always active. She loved running 5Ks and collected medals from all her races. She was fiercely independent and sometimes stubborn! She was hard working and always wanted to take care of herself.

She was an animal lover, grew up with animals, and always had dogs, birds and a few cats in her life. She groomed dogs and loved placing and rescuing animals. She was very knowledgeable about animals.

Most of all, Kim loved her son, Nick, and her daughter, Mary, and oh my gosh, her granddaughter, Lennon, and her grandson, Wyatt! She spent all the time she could with them. And they all loved her dearly. You couldn't help but love Kim.

Also, she loved music and going to concerts. She loved dancing. And she was pretty obsessed with the Carolina Panthers! She went to as many games as she could afford and even dressed her dogs in Panther's attire.

A funny thing about Kim, she was very excited about weather and especially hurricanes. In another life she might be a meteorologist.

Kim worked for many years with Megan Hendrix, who was her friend and did so much for her for many years.

She was always on the go, until a terrible disease began to affect her. At MUSC, she got the diagnosis of ALS, which was a shock and devastation to Kim and her loved ones. She was forced to slow down in the last months of her life, but as was her nature, she fought a valiant fight until the end.

Kim was a much-adored lady to many people. Our hearts are broken, but we will cherish the memories of her forever.
