Lori Warner Stushek, beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on 2/18/2024 surrounded by her family. Two years ago, Lori was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. She fought hard and didn't spend time looking back. Instead, she educated others about her condition, stressing the importance of completing their mammograms.
Lori was born 60 years ago in Wausau, Wisconsin into a family of eight girls. Her early career was at the Connexus Credit Union branch at Wausau Insurance where she started as a teller, loan officer and eventually branch manager. She later became a branch manager of a finance company in Ladysmith, and in 1996 she became an insurance agent and took over an American Family Insurance Agency in Ladysmith; in 2007 she also took over an American Family agency in Cornell, and in 2016 she added another agency in Eau Claire, where she spent the majority of her time before retiring early due to her illness - after 27 years in business. Her ability to connect with customers due to her knowledge and outgoing personality were the keys to her very successful career.
Lori was married to Rob Stushek for 29 years, before divorcing. They had two wonderful daughters she was so proud of, Heather and Kara, and four grandchildren who were a special joy in her life. She was an excellent landscaper, both at home and at her special vacation spot, her camper site near Chippewa Falls. She also loved to travel and spend time with her parents and her sisters in Wausau.
Lori was preceded in death by her beloved mother Martha Warner who died on June 25, 2023.
She is survived by daughters Heather Stushek (Dave Ferry), and Kara Stushek, and grandchildren Sawyer, Miles, Willa and Sylvie; her father James Warner; sisters Joani (Mike) Lashua (Wausau), Bonnie (Randy) Held (Kronenwetter), Susie (Don) Woller (Weston), Donna Warner (Amherst), Judy Warner (Wausau), Cindy (Joe) Watson (Weston), and Kathy (Brad) Bedessem (Weston); and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.
In remembrance of Lori, please schedule your next mammogram - or tell your mother, sister, aunt, friends, to make and keep their screening appointments.
In lieu of memorials, Lori would want you to continue to follow her favorite saying, "Live your life, enjoy every moment!"
