Loriene Youngblood Lethermon entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 62. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Loriene dedicated her life to Christ at a young age. She was baptized by the late Rev. James R. Lewis at Rock Zion Baptist Church and later became a devoted member of Mt. Gillion Baptist Church under Pastor Lamar Batiste. Loriene served her church faithfully until her health declined.
A proud graduate of Capital High School's Class of 1980, Loriene earned her bachelor's degree in business management from Southern University in Baton Rouge. She retired from the United States Postal Service after nearly 40 years of dedicated service and later worked at Peak Behavioral Health.
Loriene's love for life was evident in her passions for cooking, traveling, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. Her warm and welcoming spirit touched everyone she met—she truly never met a stranger.
Loriene is survived by her loving children: Miesha (Rekeem) Wilson and Michael (Jo) Lethermon Jr.; her grandchildren: Lilyana, Zariyah, and Kyreaux; Godchild: Kashonna Conner; brothers: Rayford (Wondia) Varnado Sr., Joe Stallion, Michael (Latrice) Youngblood Sr. and Samuel Youngblood; sisters: Shirley (Fred) Selvage, Michelle (Terry) Richard, Shinelle Stallings, Johnnie Stewart, Annie Thompson, Vanessa Youngblood, JoAnn Youngblood, Debra Larks, and Shirley Griffin. She was surrounded by a large extended family of brothers and sisters and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Idean Stallings; Father Lester Youngblood Jr.; brothers Donnie Stallings, Alexander Brooks, and Roy Youngblood; sister Debra Ghoram; maternal grandparents Charlie and Irene Stallings; paternal grandparents Dorothy and Lester Youngblood Sr; Godparents Shelve and Thelma Brock.
