We are sad to announce the passing of Lorinda Daniel Moore, age 54. Lorinda was the youngest daughter of Gene Daniel and Delcie Lorene (Ledbetter) Daniel of Albany, Indiana, born on September 4, 1970. Lorinda passed away at her home in Nantucket, Massachusetts on Friday, March 28, 2025 due to serious health conditions.
Lorinda loved her family, especially her son Avery. She enjoyed spending time with her four siblings, and all of her extended family of several cousins, aunts and uncles. Growing up there was always family around and the cousins seemed like siblings, as Lorinda always noted. Lorinda met her husband Greg while travelling in Italy, they married on November 22, 2002 in St. Louis Missouri with a beautiful wedding.
Lorinda graduated from Delta High School in 1988 and moved on to Ball State University, where she joined the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She earned a degree in political science and pre-law. She was chosen as a presidential scholar. This began her career with the US government, a span that ran from 1993 2002. Working at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Legislative Affairs and Health Policy; the US Department of Health and Human Services agencies, Policy Analyst/Special Assistant working on legislative affairs and policy for illicit drug demand reduction; Former Health Issues Staff at the Office of Senator Edward Kennedy with her focus on oversight of pharmaceutical drug, device, and biotech regulation. She coordinated passage of law to address use of international approval process for pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices to protect developing countries. She advanced her career to become the Staff Director for Legislative Affairs at the United States Mint. After Lorinda's marriage she relocated to St. Louis Missouri where she was the Former Co-Chair, Board of Directors at the Alliance for the Status of Missouri Women from 2005-2007. Lorinda made a big impact in our world at a young age, we were all very proud of her and her accomplishments.
Lorinda is survived by her husband Greg Moore, Nantucket MA, Son Avery Jackson Moore, Nantucket MA, Step daughter Christine Anderson, St. Louis, MO, Step son Scott Moore. Sisters Lois Bousman (Terry Deceased),Muncie IN, Sharon Hinkle (Jeff), Roanoke VA, Marsha Sherrell (David) Muncie IN, brother Edward Daniel (Amy) New Richmond OH. Brother-in-law Brad Moore (Pam, Deceased) Kansas City, Sister-in-Law Debbie Reason (Paul) Kansas City. Nieces Laura Miller (Joshua), Callie Daniel, Nan (Will), Ashley Moore. Nephews Joshua Bousman, Steven Bousman (Michelle), Jameson Hinkle(Brittany), Craig Sherrell (Noelle), Ethan Daniel, Bryson (Whitney), Bryson Moore, Grant Reason. Step grandchildren Chloe Anderson, Kenna Anderson. She is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, too many to list. She is also survived by her two best friends Mary Clare Norris and Lisa Houtz, and her cherished dog Talulah.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Lorene Daniel, grandparents Floyd and Ruby Daniel, Roy and Jewell Ledbetter, mother and father-in-law Jack and Jane Moore, and cousin Philip Buck. As well as many wonderful aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at Speck's Funeral Home, Livingston Tennessee on Saturday, May 17th at noon, with a celebration of life to follow. Burial will take place at Wirmingham Cemetery, Monroe Tennessee on Sunday, May 18th.
