Lorine H. Crapps of West Columbia, SC passed on to her heavenly home on Tuesday April 15, 2025. Funeral will be held at the gravesite at 3:00 pm at Southland Memorial Gardens on Thursday April 15, 2025.Services will be conducted by Pastor Debbie Miller of Platt Springs United Methodist Church, where Mom and Dad were lifelong members..
Born September 17, 1929, she was a daughter of the late David and Beulah Hutchins and stepfather Irving Anderson. She was a retired employee of the State of South Carolina Budget and Control Board – Division of Research.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard F. Crapps, a son Richard D. Crapps, and her brothers Frank, David and Harold Hutchins., and a sister Patsy Neal.
She is survived by a daughter Rhonda Hyatt (J.C. Hyatt) of Lexington. Also surviving are six grandchildren - Melissa Shumpert, Kenny (Becky) Shumpert, Chad Shumpert, Stephanie Goodwin,Michael Crapps, Beth (Marc) Sheffler of North Canton, Ohio. The eleven great-grandchildren are Jon Lewis, William Crapps, Clayton Crapps, Sidney Marie Slade, Caleb Strauser, Aidan Strauser, Grace Lynn Goodwin, Liliana Shumpert, Blake Shumpert, Cameron Sheffler, and Blake Sheffler; and one great-great grandchild Daniella Hernandez.
The family would like to extend many thanks and much appreciation to Lexington Extended Care and MSA Hospice for their care and support for Mom. In addition, thank you goes out to all the nurses and staff in Lexington Trace.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Platt Springs United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's research in her memory.
