Lorine Martin

Lorine Catherine Martin, age 95, of New Salisbury, Indiana, peacefully passed away on March 13, 2025. Born on June 19, 1929, in Bradford, Indiana, to Clem and Florence (Jacobi) Uhl, Lorine led a life filled with love, devotion to her family, and a deep connection to her faith.
On January 24, 1951, Lorine married the love of her life, Paul "Pete" Martin. Together, they raised a family and spent their years in New Salisbury, IN. Lorine was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bradford. She was known for her caring and nurturing spirit, dedicating much of her life to her family as a devoted housewife.
In addition to being a loving mother and grandmother, Lorine had a variety of interests that brought her joy. She enjoyed playing euchre, gardening, and cooking, and was an accomplished seamstress. She also loved to sing in the church choir and cherished the time spent with her friends and family.
Lorine was preceded in death by her parents, Clem, Florence and step-mother, Agatha Uhl; her beloved husband, Paul "Pete" Martin; two brothers, Charles Uhl and Bernard Uhl; and her sister, Mary Libs.
She is survived by her children, David (Pam) Martin, Cheryl (Mark) Davidson, and Susan (Dan Doering) Pierson; half-sisters, Mary Ann McElroy and Sharon (Mike) Newton; her grandchildren, Chris (Melissa) Davidson, Kyle (Kellie) Davidson, Brad (Melissa) Pierson, Lindsey (Justin) Bussabarger, Kelsey Pierson, Brent (Stacy) Martin, and Douglas (Liz) Martin; as well as 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, JoAnn Schmidt.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Swarens Funeral Home, Ramsey, IN, and again from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bradford, IN. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Bradford, IN.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Harrison Springs and to everyone who provided such great care and compassion to Lorine during her final years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
