Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at St. Rita Catholic Church for Lorita Borel Barras, 89, who passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
Father Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Lorita's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to the casino. Lorita was a wonderful homemaker and a loving mother, sister and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky Barras, Kimball Barras (Jamie) and Corey Barras (Terri); companion, Donald Mayeux; sister, Patsy Laperouse; grandchildren, Blake Barras (Jennifer), Chase Barras (Jade), Lance Barras, Kristie Lancon, Nicole Benoit and Brandi Gwin. great-grandchildren, Kelsey Doiron (Trent), Kaden Barras, Elliana Barras, Grace Lancon, Cameron Lancon, Juliana Barras, Brooklyn Marusak, Oakland Marusak, Parker Benoit, Niles Gwin and Madison Lancon; and great-great-grandchild, Audrey Duplechian.
She is preceded in death by her grandchild, Blair Barras; parents, Frank Borel and Essie Camille Borel; and brother, Perry Borel.
