Lorna Fay Eisel, 92, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit, MO. Funeral services were held on March 26, 2025 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Interment followed in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill, MO.
Lorna was born May 15, 1932 in Kansas City, MO, a daughter of John E. and Wanda Nee (Keuck) Schumacher. She was raised in the Ruskin neighborhood of Kansas City, was a 1950 graduate of Ruskin High School, and survived the Ruskin Heights F5 tornado of 1957.
Lorna was united in marriage to Harry W. Eisel on June 8, 1968, and they were married for 40 wonderful years. Lorna worked at Western Electric in Lee's Summit, MO for 25 years before her retirement in 1987. She was a member of the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill where she enjoyed working in the lady's ministry at the church. Her favorite things to do included sewing, quilting, shopping and traveling. But, what gave her great joy during her last few years was holding and playing with her precious great-grandchildren.
Lorna was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; her parents; a son-in law, Jim Cassidy; a sister, Marta Beth; and a brother, Fred. She is survived by her children: Sandy (Stephen) Jones, of Pleasant Hill, MO, Rick (Jamie) Eisel, of Belton, MO, Julie Cassidy, of Liberty, MO, Cindy (Jim) Mickelberry, of Harrisonville, MO, and Sheri (Ron) Friend, of Garden City, MO; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mom. Grandma. GG, We will miss you dearly!
