Lorraine Katherine (Ferri) Squeglia, age 94, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27th, 2025, at Sarah Reed Senior Living Center. Lorraine was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 8th, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Ugo Ferri and Leonetta (Bonicoli - Gerbi) Ferri. She was a graduate of South Hills High School.

Lorraine was an active and dedicated member of Sacred Heart Church for many years. She served the parish in a variety of roles, ranging from the Rosary Society, Altar Society, Big Give Away committees, and Offertory Collection. Lorraine was the leader for many years of the long-standing Sacred Heart Spaghetti Dinner, where you could find her in the kitchen behind towering pots of sauce, dishing out delicious plates with a smile and a wave for all who knew her. She was a member of the Italian American Women's organization and was fiercely proud of her Italian Heritage. If Lorraine wasn't at Sacred Heart, you could find her at any of her grandchildren's, nieces & nephews' events- from athletics to concerts, shows, and plays, Lorraine was there to cheer, encourage, and support her family on any given day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 65 years, Dominic Richard Squeglia; and her brother, Silvio Gerbi.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Squeglia (Lynn), Michael Squeglia (Ann), and Daniel Squeglia, all of Erie. Two sisters-in-law, Anita Squeglia and Marlene Squeglia. Five grandchildren, Paul (Renae), Christopher, Patrick (Diana), Anthony, and Alice Squeglia. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She loved her family and spent her entire life caring for her mother, husband, brother, sons, cousins, and grandchildren, and was extremely devoted to them all. Lorraine had many admirable talents, but nothing came close to her passion in the kitchen. Learning from her mother, Lorraine could take the simplest of ingredients and produce a fabulous Italian meal. She also loved passing that knowledge onto her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, while either intentionally or unintentionally forgetting an ingredient or two, like every good Italian cook. Her biscotti, tomato canning, sauce making, and ravioli training sessions made for many memories and stories. She had a wonderful flair for making every dish just right. She enjoyed nothing more than having a table full of family over to her house for dinner on any given day of the week.

Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 816 West 26th Street, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial in Trinity Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Lorraine's family would like to extend a thank you to the teams at Sarah Reed Senior Living and to AseraCare Hospice for the care provided.
