Lou Nell Simpson Dismuke was born in Rosston, Arkansas on January 12, 1925, to the parents of Lucian and Birdia Quarles Simpson, the first child of this union. In 1941, Lou Nell married Jimmy D. Dismuke.
Lou Nell was a spiritual and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. At an early age, Lou Nell gave her life to Christ and was a faithful member of Garrett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed her early morning prayer calls, tending to her garden and yard, and feeding the kittens. On Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the gracious age of 98, the Master welcomed her home. She went peacefully.
Lou Nell was preceded in death by her parents; her bonus mother, Allie Mae Robinson Simpson; her husband, Jimmy D. Dismuke; one sister, Peggy Simpson Woodford; three brothers, Claudell Simpson, Robert Simpson, Walter Wencher, and sister-in-love, Lovenia Simpson.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory with her three sons, Henry (Erlinda) Dismuke of Plano, TX; Jimmy (Jane) Dismuke of Plano, TX; and Charles Dismuke of Hope, AR; five grandchildren, Inge Dismuke-Stovall, Kamitia (Isiah) Watson, Carlos (Adrianne) Dismuke, Taledra Campbell, Kimbrae Lauderback, twelve great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, five sisters and four brothers, Adelle Rucks, Margaret Wilson-Smith, Ophelia (Ariel) Worrel, Betty Matlock, Stephanie (Ralph) Johnson, Leon Simpson, Odell (Bobbi) Simpson, Jerry (Vicky) Simpson, and Glen Simpson, a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life and Legacy for Lou Nell Simpson Dismuke will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Garrett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Massey, eulogist. Mrs. Dismuke will lie in state one hour prior to service time. The interment will be at New Salem Church Cemetery in Rosston, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Rannie Simpson, Kenneth Simpson, Iradale Love, Daytrion Allen, Ian Stovall, and Kevin Stovall, III.
