LouAnn Nancy (Nicol) Johnson – It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of LouAnn Nancy (Nicol) Johnson, who celebrated her last sunset on Saturday, January 11, 2025, surrounded by her family, at the age of 70. LouAnn was a devoted wife, adored mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished sister, who will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut on January 23, 1954, LouAnn was the daughter of the late Glenn and Louise (Barnes) Nicol. She grew up in Manchester and graduated from Manchester High School in 1972. It was during high school that she met her true love, Stephen. After their marriage in 1972, Stephen and LouAnn started their new life in Colchester, where they welcomed and raised their children Jennifer and Jason. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and lasting memories. LouAnn was especially thankful for the many years she lived on Westerly Terrace, where deep, lasting bonds were made and everyone felt like family. LouAnn appreciated every moment with her family, always putting their needs before her own and offering them unwavering support and love.
After retiring, Stephen and LouAnn fulfilled their dream of living on the water, moving to Littleton, NC, where they found peace in their lakeside home. LouAnn loved feeding her ducks and watching the sunsets over Lake Gaston.
LouAnn will be remembered for the care and thoughtfulness she put into the little things, making every holiday and occasion feel special. She found joy in finding treasures and just the right gift for her loved ones. LouAnn had a touch of sparkle in her style, always adding some extra magic to her surroundings. Her stubbornness proved to be an endearing quality that made LouAnn unforgettable.
LouAnn is survived by her husband of 52 years, Stephen; daughter Jennifer (Johnson) Rowland and her husband Shaun of Nashua, NH and son Jason Johnson and his wife Kristen of Marlborough, CT. LouAnn loved her grandchildren deeply and unconditionally: Emma Louise and William Cody Rowland, Jackson William Oliveira, and Dustin Stephen Johnson. LouAnn is also survived by her sister Valerie and her husband Wayne Guitard; in-laws Michael and Irene Johnson, Kathy and Al Paine, Keith and Chris Johnson, Laura and Chuck Pastula, and Shelly and Eric Traumuller; nieces Jamie, Elyse, Samantha, and Leah; nephews Shannon, Kevin, Seth, Travis, Ryan, and Evan; loving cousins and treasured friends. LouAnn was predeceased by her brothers James and Richard "Bicky" Nicol and her nephew Scott Nicol.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our wonderful neighbors in Littleton, NC for their overwhelming support and kindness.
The legacy of love LouAnn leaves behind is immeasurable, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. A celebration of LouAnn's life will be planned for a future date in Connecticut. I will forever miss you and the fun times we shared singing to the oldies and how we both loved a glass or two of Asti Spumanti. I always looked forward to the trips you and Steve made to visit us. You will always be in my heart and mind. I loved you like a sister and we will share another glass of Asti when I see you again.

Steve, I am so sorry for your loss of LouAnn. Years, life and distance have seen us lose communication, but I follow you on Facebook and have kept in touch that way. LouAnn was a wonderful person, and I am so happy that you were able make the dream of living by the water happen ! I have fond memories of the old neighborhood were we grew up, and remember LouAnn as the only person that I knew, or have known, that drove a Saab Sonett !!! God Bless You Steve, and your entire family.
