Louella "Sissy" Howard, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on December 6, 1938 in Texico, Illinois, the daughter of Earl Howard, Sr. and Clythera (Winkler) Howard. Sissy married Jesse J. Moulder, Sr. on October 3, 1955 and they had three children. They later divorced and after a few years she married Robert Cook and they had a son.
Sissy was a devoted mother to her four children: Doris Williams of Centralia, Jesse Moulder, Jr. and his wife Janet of Odin, Debbie J. Moulder of Odin, and Robert Sean Moulder of Centralia. Her legacy of love extends to her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. Sissy is also survived by her siblings: Clarence Howard, Patsy Masters, Susie Whitledge, Beryl Ann Snyder, and Judy Chappell as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: her sisters: Janice Obermeier, Alice Howard, and Emma Bromley, and brothers: Raymond Howard and Earl Edward Howard, Jr. Despite these losses, Louella's heart remained open, and her family was always central to her life.
Sissy's talents as a seamstress were widely admired, and she took great pleasure in crafting beautiful quilts and dolls that brought joy to those around her. Her culinary skills were equally extraordinary, and her kitchen was always filled with delightful aromas and warm laughter. She also was a cook for several restaurants here in Centralia. Sissy's love for learning, led her to learn how to write a children's book, a testament to her boundless imagination and desire to share stories. She had a keen sense of humor and telling stories of her childhood memories. She spent her days watching her favorite shows, I Love Lucy and the Carol Burnett Show. Sissy had a passion for taking care of her rose bush and always dreamed of having a white picket fence with climbing roses. She also enjoyed sitting outside watching and listening to the birds. Sissy also enjoyed going on walks with her sisters and daughters.
The family extends an invitation to join in celebrating Sissy's life on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the family, which can be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home, located at 235 North Sycamore Street, Centralia, Illinois 62801.
