Louie Dan Leonhardt passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the age of 92 years young. He was reunited with his wife of 62 yrs, Sue, on her birthday. Whether you called him LD, Lou, Louie Dan, Papa Lou, Daddy or PaPaw you were blessed to experience his smile, humor, tall tales, songs, dancing and love he so freely gave. He was a true Southern Gentleman and just a good guy.
Lou was born and grew up with his brother & best friend Willie in Bessemer City, NC. Lou served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was an Engineer Staff Supervisor with AT&T for 32 yrs. After retirement he started his own telephone installation business. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. As much as he loved golfing & fishing, his greatest love by far was his family.
Lou is also preceded in Death by his wife , Mary Sue Leonhardt and grandchildren Nikki Roark and Bill Cash.
He is survived by his children Lou Ann & Rickie Brownlee; Cathy & Robert Haggard; grandchildren Christy (Jay) Nemec, Blake Petzelt and Maggie Petzelt; great grandchildren Frankie, Chelsea & Mindy Roark, Brett & Peyton Nemec; great-great granddaughters Gracie, Bella & Myah and great-great grandson James. Also survived by his special daughters Sunshine & Fiona.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, December 2, 2022, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Chaplain John Fischer officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemeteryin Canton, GA with the Veterans Alliance providing military honors. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
