Louis J. Briody; age 91: beloved partner of Barbara J. Urban: loving father of Daniel F. (Mary Jean), Timothy G. (Margaret), Michael C. (Brigit), Sean P. (Jennifer), Thomas K. (Michele), Nora D. (Eric) Olsson, the late Mary, Kevin, Marie, Molly, and Matthew; cherished grandfather of Kevin, Brendan Briody; Molly (Angelo) Cavalieri, Michael, Cailin, Patrick and Megan Briody; Seamus, Aidan and Maeve Briody; Samantha Briody; Katherine and Liam Olsson; dear brother of the late George (late Alice), the late Duckie (late Greg Opelka), the late William (late Cookie), the late Frank (Ann), loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Proud kid from Little Flower Parish on the South Side, he raised his family in Chicago's Beverly neighborhood and Grand Beach MI. Professional Insurance agent and former President of Briody Insurance, working alongside some of his sons. He was actively involved in both Maryville Academy and Misericordia for many years. Attended University of Notre Dame, lifelong fan, and season ticket holder who loved the tailgates and Irish football. Graduate of Northwestern University. Served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Exceptional cook who loved cooking for his friends and family, especially his Chicken Vesuvio, Caesar salad and Cheesecakes. His homes were always open for anyone looking for a meal and laughs. An excellent singer, willing to break out a rousing rendition of "Oh Danny Boy" at a moment's notice. An avid golfer with too many golfing stories to count. Lou will be missed by his loving family and many friends, especially the friendships he enjoyed at Beverly Country Club and Grand Beach MI.
