Louis Eathan Dooling, 77, went to be with his Lord & Savior Thursday, December 12th, 2024 in Plano, Texas.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 16th at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Cottonwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Wise County Veterans will provide honors at the graveside.
Tim Jenkins will officiate. Pallbearers include David Ramsey, Chris Ahern, Mark Adams, Tim Skidmore, Tim Slimp, Reggie Riggins, and Brian Dooling.
Louis was born April 14th, 1947 to Birchie Eathan and Ruby Jean (Martin) Dooling, Jr. in Beeville, Texas. He was united in marriage October 23rd, 1964 to Margaret Fluker in Farmington, New Mexico, later marrying Pauline Miller November 30th, 2023 in Decatur, Texas. Louis was a retired salesman for a Liquid Petroleum Company. He proudly served our country in the United States Marines, and was a member of the Wise County Veterans Group. Louis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who will dearly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 56 years, Margaret Fluker Dooling, and his son-in-law, Randy Slimp.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pauline Dooling of Paradise; his daughters, Georgetta Slimp of Decatur, and Katie Payton and husband Brent of San Antonio; his son, Brian Dooling and wife Tina of Spring; his granddaughters, Amelia Slimp, Courtney Kobs, and Ashlee Dooling; his grandsons, Timothy Slimp, Kendall Payton, Kohltyn Dooling, and Tristin Dooling; great-grandchildren, Emma McCarthy and Payton Kobs; his step-children, Jimmie and Laurie Miller of Paradise, and Pamela and John Johnston of Decatur; his brother, Jerry Dooling and wife Vicki of Frisco; a host of friends.
