Louis Youngberg Obituary
April 14, 1934 ~ June 16th, 2025
Our loving husband and father, Louis A Youngberg, 91, of Brigham City passed away on Monday, June 16th, 2025.
Louis was born on April 14, 1934, in Ogden, Utah to Crystal and Jessie Anderson Youngberg. The first few years of his life were spent in Lyman, Wyoming and then in McKinnon, Wyoming where his family moved to help work the family ranch. He attended his early school years in McKinnon but spent his Jr. and Sr. Years in Green River, Wyoming. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for two years as a machinist and then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Great Lakes Mission. He loved serving the people of Ohio, Indiana and Michigan and kept many of his friends and acquaintances he met there throughout his life. In 1957 he was drafted into the United States Army. He received his basic training at Fort Ord, California and Fort Lewis, Washington. He served for 2 years in the 47th Infantry Division, Motor Battalion.
On January 23, 1959, Louis married his sweetheart, Lura Jean Christensen in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised their 4 children in Perry, Utah and later moved to Brigham City, Utah where they enjoyed good friends and neighbors, retirement, traveling and grandchildren. They have celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Louis worked at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years as a computer programmer/analyst. He enjoyed trail bike and ATV riding with family and friends in Wyoming and Northern Utah. He loved being a father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law Jerrice Youngberg, and children Scott (Michelle) Youngberg, Kevin (Janell) Youngberg and Kathy (Alan) Nell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lura Jean Youngberg and his eldest son Brent Youngberg.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Myer's Mortuary 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT. A graveside service will follow at the Brigham City Cemetery.
